DECALIA’s asset management team is comprised of very experienced investment professionals, whose areas of expertise complement each other well.
Alfredo Piacentini started his financial career in 1986 at Banque Lombard Odier as a financial analyst and fund manager, both in Geneva and London. He subsequently co-founded Banque Syz in 1995.
As a partner and Co-CEO of the Syz Group, he was in charge of private banking, discretionary portfolio management, and Oyster investment funds until 2014, when he left the Group (CHF 33 bn of assets under management).
Alfredo Piacentini was also a board member of Banca Albertini Syz in Milan from 2000 to 2019, acting as Chairman in 2012 and 2013.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva (IUHEI) obtained in 1981.
Rodolfo De Benedetti has worked for Lombard Odier and Shearson Lehman Brothers in the United States. Furthermore, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors and majority co-shareholder of the Italian group CIR, of which he was the CEO for 18 years. He is also Chairman of the Harvard Business School’s European Advisory Board and member of the European Round Table of Industrialists.
He holds a Master’s degree in Political Economy and a master’s degree in Law from the University of Geneva.
Xavier Guillon worked for 14 years at US private bank Brown Brothers Harriman, in London & New York, heading Institutional Sales. He then joined Banque SYZ in 2007, where he held several functions, including CEO of OYSTER Funds and member of SYZ Group’s Executive Committee.
Xavier Guillon holds an MBA in International Marketing & BBA in International Business from Georges Washington University in Washington DC.
Sandro Occhilupo holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Geneva and holds the CFA (2001) and CMT (2011) qualifications. He worked for UBS (Geneva and New York) for 5 years as a portfolio manager, and then spent 10 years with Banque SYZ as a manager of private and institutional portfolios. At DECALIA he is head of Discretionary Portfolio Management.
Before joining DECALIA in 2019, Fabrizio Quirighetti worked for more than 17 years at SYZ Asset Management, where he was CIO and Head of Multi-Asset. Prior to that, he was an assistant in the Department of Econometrics at the University of Geneva for 6 years.
Fabrizio Quirighetti holds a Master’s degree in Applied Econometrics from the University of Geneva and is an external member of the Tactical Allocation Committee of Compenswiss, the AVS/AI/APG compensation fund since 2014.
Damien Weyermann joined Decalia in early 2016 and today boasts almost two decades of experience in equity research and investment management.
After working for 9 years at Lombard Odier and Bank Vontobel as a sell-side analyst in Equity Brokerage, he moved to the Buy Side in 2010, joining Lloyds International Private Bank and then Coutts & Co as an equity analyst and portfolio manager for UHNW clients.
Damien Weyermann holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration & Economics from the University of Geneva and is a CFA charterholder since 2004.
Francesco Figliomeni holds a bachelor in business administration from Bocconi University in Milan.
He started his career at Arnoldo Mondadori Editore Spa as a controller and business analyst. Then he moved to Banca Profilo Spa in the asset management division, managing funds and private accounts. Before moving to DECALIA, he worked for a family office taking care of the private equity investments.
Francesco Figliomeni is also responsible in DECALIA for the selection of external funds.
Antonio Garufi joined DECALIA in 2017 as Fund Manager. He started his career at Citigroup & JP Morgan as an analyst in London in 2005 for three years, then spent 8 years with Astor Investment in Milan as portfolio manager & analyst of a multi-thematic hedge fund strategy.
Antonio graduated in 2005 from Bocconi University, holds a PhD in business administration, graduated from the Value Investing program at Columbia Business School and from the Strategic Financial Analysis and Behavioral Finance programs at Harvard.
Jean-Christophe Labbé is a senior fund manager. Prior to joining DECALIA, Jean-Christophe Labbé successfully managed a fund dedicated to the Millennials thematic at Goldman Sachs in New York.
Before, he worked 10 years as Senior Investment Analyst in the TMT (Technologic Media and Telecom) sector at ING IM & Merrill Lynch.
Roberto Magnatantini is a senior fund manager. Prior to joining Decalia, he spent 12 years at Banque SYZ in Geneva, where he headed the Global Equities team and managed global funds.
He also worked at HSBC and Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch, where he ran Global and European Funds after various years as a financial analyst.
Roberto Magnatantini graduated in Business Administration & Finance at the University of Geneva and is also a CFA and CMT charterholder.
Michele Pedroni joined DECALIA in 2017 as fund manager and analyst with a specific focus to European markets. Prior to joining, Michele spent 6 years with SYZ banking group/OYSTER Funds, where he served as global equity analyst before becoming portfolio manager in the global equities team.
Michele Pedroni obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan in 2009 and a Master’s Degree in Finance at the Bocconi University in Milan.
Hussein Nassereddine joined Decalia in January 2015. Since then he is in charge of all quantitative equity screenings as well as option strategies, structured products and quantitative risk management.
Before joining Decalia, Hussein worked at UBP in Geneva as a member of the multi-asset and institutional clients’ team.
Hussein Nassereddine holds a Master degree in Financial Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, EPFL, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the American University of Beirut both with distinction.
Xavier Blaettler joined DECALIA in 2017 as Head of Trading. Prior to joining Xavier worked 10 years at Swissquote as Head of Securities Sales & Trading.
He was in charge of 3 trading teams: Equities & Derivatives, Fixed Income and Investment Funds. Before that 5 years at UBS in Zurich as Equity Derivatives Sales Trader.
Xavier Blaettler holds a bachelor degree in Computer Science & Software Engineering.
Maurice Basso is a trading specialist, in particular in foreign exchange. He began his career more than 40 years ago with UBS.
Since then, he has always been active as a trader and market room manager at various banks and financial institutions in Switzerland and abroad. During these years, he has acquired broad experience and ability in technical analysis.
Before joining Decalia in 2016, Maurice Basso exercised his skills for 17 years in SYZ Bank.
Andrea Biscia is a Junior Portfolio Manager and ESG Analyst. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Turin and a Master’s Degree in Finance from HEC Lausanne – major in Asset Management.
Andrea Biscia also obtained a CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) in Sustainable Finance at HEG in Geneva.
Bernhard Utiger joined DECALIA in 2019, with more than 18 years of experience in fund distribution and sales covering German-speaking Switzerland. Over his career, he has developed a strong expertise in setting up and implementing fund distribution strategies for a wide range of professional clients, including independent asset managers, family offices, banks and financial institutions. Before joining DECALIA, he worked in different management and senior sales roles at leading investment firms, such as Vontobel Investment Banking, Flossbach von Storch, JP Morgan Asset Management and Julius Baer Asset Management. He started his career as an Auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Rafaella Ostier holds a Master degree in Asset Management from Dauphine University in Paris. Prior to joining DECALIA, she worked 7 years for Nordea Asset Management in Paris and Luxembourg, taking care of the business development of independent financial advisors and family offices.
A mathematician by training, Truong-Linh Pham began his career in scientific research and teaching in the Mathematics section at the University of Geneva. In 2004, he started at La Compagnie de Trésorerie Benjamin de Rothschild as a derivatives specialist, then joined the business development team at Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, where he headed a team of three people dedicated to French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino.
Truong-Linh Pham holds a Master’s degree in mathematics and a Master’s degree in mathematics applied to economics and finance.
Marcus Kirschner joined DECALIA in 2020 and has over 6 years of experience in the sales of investment solutions, notably with family offices, banks and other financial institutions. Prior to joining DECALIA, he worked at AMG – Affiliated Managers Group, a US “multi-boutique” asset management company where he was a member of the European Distribution Team and responsible for distributing Private Markets-, Equity- and Hedge Fund -solutions. He started his career working at a long/short equity boutique.
Marcus Kirschner holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from SBS Swiss Business School.
After her Master’s from the faculty of Economics at the University of Geneva, Béatrice Rolland started her career as Information Technologies and Financial auditor at PwC Geneva. She rapidly joined the fund industry, first at Capital International during 4 years and then at Banque SYZ during 15 years, where she was COO for the OYSTER Fund activity and Compliance Officer for SYZ Asset Management (Luxembourg) SA.
Eugenia Garcia has a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Graduate Institute Geneva (IHED).
She has more than 16-year experience in Wealth Management. She started her career at Avendis Capital. Subsequently, she worked for Citigroup.
After 11 years at Syz Bank, mainly as Chief of Staff Officer, she joined DECALIA as Compliance Officer.
